Mentawiis
The Mentawiis is like Disneyland for surfers. There are all kinds of insane setups which in the last 10years have been the backbone of surf photography. The waves are so good it sometimes look surreal. The waves are so clean and perfect making average surfers feel like they are surfing like a ‘pro’ until you see a pro surfing out here. There are many types of waves to suit differing standarads however you would want to be a fairly comptent reef surfer to ensure you get value for money while there. The coral is often sharp and unforgiving. However due to there perfection
many of the waves can be surprisingly easy to surf. Its definitely a spot were you have a chance to get the wave of your life. Thereare 2 main options to surfing in the Mentawiis, boat charters and land camps and both have there pros and cons. Neither is cheap compared to other areas of indo but if you are on a tight time frame nowere beats the Mentawiis for waves per day ratios for surf holidays. Every decent surfer should go there once in there life
