Beginners
Very few places in Europe enjoy the wave consistency of Famara Beach. Warm water, a sandy beach and natural beauty are all conducive to progressive learning. For the total beginners, we begin with Softboards. Light wetsuits are used that are adequate for our warm waters. The 
softboard has made a revolution in Surf schools, allowing Surfers far more room to make those initial mistakes. As you progress on our course you move towards using fiberglass surfboards of a size catering to your body type and ability.
First and foremost is Surf safety. You are taught fromday 1 how even, when under the supervision of our Instructors, to learn rapidly to control your board and position in the sea. For total beginner Surfers, first day lessons are conducted in waist depth water, after practice on the beach.
If you have never Surfed before, your first and maybe second day lessons will be conducted in waist depth water. First and foremost is a beach safety lesson where we 
explain our beach signals and safety points. We are watching you all the time. We are your video. After each short session feedback from your rides is given. Techniques such as catching the white wave can be learnt in 20 minutes. We expect many of you to be on your feet in the first day. This too has been done as beach practice. In these rides we see the first white water waves and the first almost unbroken waves being ridden. We work at your speed.
Turning on the white wave is essential to learn before trying your turns on the unbroken wave. This too is a beach practice clearly explained. We know at Surf School Lanzarote that we use the most advanced techniques possible. Whether it be turning, paddling or at any stage of this beautiful sport.

Advanced Surfing
Surf School Lanzarote, Europe's finest Surf school based in the Canary Islands, is using the most advanced techniques acquired over 25 years of teaching by director Tim Jones. His team are alL 
BSA Level 1,2,3 and 4 qualified Instructors. Also all Instructors are Professional Beach Lifeguards. Surf School Lanzarote is a British Surfing Association Level 4 Approved Surf School, the BSA's highest award and is the only British Surfing Association Level 4 Approved surf school outside the UK. We are also the only ISARegistered School in the Canaries. These qualifications ensure the highest standards of quality coaching and safety.
Some of you coming to Surf School Lanzarote may have ridden waves before or have been Surfing a long time and simply wish to work on more advanced techniques. Don't forget part of the British squad has trained here with Surf School Lanzarote. Whatever your needs we can cover them.
If you are an intermediate Surfer, with a couple of years of Surfing behind you, we can deal with those problems which will always come up to the progressing Surfer. You may find that we expand further your knowledge of safety in the Surf. You may be only riding white waves and 
need the paddling techniques to move out further to unbroken waves. You may find that you are already picking up unbroken waves but need help on turning and maneuvers. We focus very much on body mechanics and the way a Surfboard really works in waves. Please bring your own Surfboards if you wish but don't forget pack them with loving care. Boards used at the school are BIC Surfboards in a range of sizes starting at 7´3 going to 7´11, 9, and 10 f
ooters. It's reallythat Surf School Lanzarote is trying to give the whole picture of Surfing and technique no matter what your ability level is. With the constant ingredient that you are having fun as well.
