The surf
Brazil is known for its beach breaks and sand points and not world class reefs. The surf is often perfect for beginners and intermediates however it can get big swells occasionally. The Brazilian surf at times can be weak for experienced surfers but can produce shorebreaks which give more than enough punch for intermediate and beginners.
The climate/surf season
The summer is pretty much board shorts year round, spots to the south need 3/2s in the winter months from July to August.
